Glomerulonephritis is the alteration that affects the function of the glomeruli; These are small sacs with spherical shape in charge of filtering the blood in the kidneys, not necessarily presenting inflammatory processes. This disease can be associated with diseases such as Diabetes Mellitus or Lupus. It can also be due to bacterial infections such as Streptococcus pyogenes.

It can be part of other kidney disorders.
