Generalities:

Colitis is also known as irritable bowel syndrome, presenting symptoms such as:

  • Abdominal bloating
  • Pain (cramps)
  • Diarrhea or constipation
  • Excess of gases
  • Bleeding in the stool
  • Vomiting
  • Difficulty swallowing
  • Weightloss

This condition is more common in young people and in females. Rarely appears after 50 years.

Causes:

The inflammation of the colon (large intestine) can be due to emotional factors such as stress, anxiety, anger, worry (intense emotions). Or physical factors such as irritants, toxic agents, pathogens or food intolerance. They must also consider dysfunctions of the nervous system, review the Autonomous Nervous System and the pair: Benavides, among others.
