Type: Multiple causes

Generalities:

Muscle weakness is a symptom that can be due to multiple conditions.
The striated muscles of our body allow voluntary movements, in their operation are important a number of factors such as the amount of oxygen, glucose, balance of elements such as calcium, among many others.

Therefore muscle weakness can be due to many different factors such as:

  • Infection by various pathogens (viruses, bacteria, fungi, parasites)
  • Disorders in the levels of elements such as calcium, sodium, potassium, lithium, etc.
  • Hormonal disorders
  • Nervous system disorders
  • Blood disorders
  • Disorders of the digestive system, especially of the liver or pancreas
  • Chronic intoxication

For all the above, a complete scanning is necessary.

Muscle weakness can be confused or associated with chronic fatigue that can be the product of emotional disorders such as depression, anguish, stress or insomnia.
