Dysentery

Type: Multiple causes

Generalities:

It is characterized by inflammation of the intestines, especially the colon, causing diarrhea that presents blood and / or mucus.

Dysentery can be caused by a bacterial infection, protozoa, parasites, viruses or chemical irritants. The two most frequent causes are infection with an enterobacteria of the Shigella group, and infection by an amoeba, Entamoeba histolytica.

In addition to the aforementioned pathogens,  check all pairs.

Take care of the patient's hydration.
