Generalities:

Caused by meningococcus or viral. It produces death due to ventilatory insufficiency. Paralysis of the whole body, False Multiple Sclerosis with symptoms similar to true Multiple Sclerosis. Injuries in lower spinal cord, producing sagging, hypertrophy, weakness, disability, back pain. In children it can present with seizures, fever, neck stiffness, vomiting in projectile. Simulates fibromyalgia.

Transmission:

Viral meningitis is transmitted between people through saliva, by direct contact or by small droplets that travel through the air. It is not transmitted by animals.
